So what am I looking forward to in 2019, I hear you cry? Settle in, here goes…
I am a latecomer to the marvellous Schitt’s Creek, the first four seasons of which are on Netflix, and I have already watched the whole lot twice this year. The fifth season is airing in Canada and the US now and I am resisting all temptation to stream it illegally so I can joyfully binge on the adventures of the Rose family when it arrives over here soon. I have no doubt that new series of Line of Duty, Fleabag, Game of Thrones, Big Little Lies, Derry Girls and Killing Eve will all be lined up on my sky box during the year.
Film-wise, I think I’ve probably already seen the best of the year in If Beale Street Could Talk which is simply wonderful, but I’m also looking forward to many many solo #kathsfridayfilms trips to my local cinema, to see films including Us (directed by Jordan Peele) and Loro (about Silvio Berlusconi).
Major exhibitions of work by Keith Haring, Olafur Eliasson, Bridget Riley and Mike Nelson are top of my ‘To See’ list in London, and I am really looking forward to my 2019 Venice Biennale visit in June.
